About Purple Pentapus

Purple Pentapus, Creature — octopus starfish, designed by Devin Elle Kurtz first released in Aug, 2025 in the set Avatar: The Last Airbender Eternal.

This Purple Pentapus card would work well in a surveil-heavy Dimir deck in Magic: the Gathering. Its ability to surveil upon entering the battlefield can help dig for key cards while its recursion ability offers a good way to bring it back from the graveyard for additional value. However, there are potentially better cards like Bloodghast or Gravecrawler that provide more value and consistency in certain builds, so whether or not Purple Pentapus sees play would depend on the specific strategy of the deck it's included in.
